India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) will host industry figures from across the world next week at a conference to mark the organization’s 50th anniversary.
Entitled “Mines to Market 2017,” the two-day International Diamond Conference will feature talks by ministers from mining countries, representatives of diamond producers, and heads of retail and luxury brands, the GJEPC announced recently.
The event will run from March 19 to 20 at the Hotel Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.
Speakers will include Nirmala Sitharaman, India’s minister for commerce and industry, as well as power minister Piyush Goyal. Addresses and panel discussions will feature figures from De Beers, Dominion Diamond Corporation and Signet Jewelers, in addition to the Gemological Institute of America and the World Federation of Diamond Bourses.
“As a major player in the world market, I believe it is our responsibility, and I take pride in organizing this event wherein we bring together all the stakeholders from the world diamond industry on a single platform to discuss various challenges faced by the industry,” said GJEPC chairman Praveenshankar Pandya.
