In June 2016, shortly after the announcement of the campaign “Real is rare. Real is a diamond.”, launched by the DPA, and its communication to the industry at the JCK trade fair in Las Vegas, Rubel & Ménasché contacted Jean-Marc Lieberherr—CEO of the DPA since 2016.
On Monday 27 June, at De Beers’ 2016 Business Excellence Seminar, speeches were made by the outgoing and incoming directors—Philippe Mellier was due to step down four days later. What they said gives us some indications of what to expect in the future and the new course set for De Beers.
The De Beers Business Excellence Seminar was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on Monday 27th June 2016. The gem producer brought together its sightholders and part of its teams for the occasion.
