Dear readers,
As the summer break draws near, our Lettre tackles a wide range of subjects, which will give you food for thought, whether you read them before you go, while you’re travelling or when you return ;-)
Thus, we take a look at Canadian diamonds, the Forevermark, De Beers and Botswana, marketing and digital strategy.
Make a point of reading the review by Rob Bates, from the JCK, of the documentary about natural and synthetic diamonds to be released in the fall on Showtime. Documentaries on our industry (though, having said that, if I understood correctly, this is actually more of an ‘essay’) are fairly few and far between, so it is worth taking a look at what it uncovers. It is also always interesting to get a new perspective and to ‘see’ what others make of our industry.
Then, since we wish to end the season in style, we offer you a dreamy visit to the heart of the wonderful exhibition curated by Chaumet and the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Paris: ‘Botanical – Observing Beauty.’ Of course, you will discover amazing jewelry and delightful designs there, but that is not all! It draws on art in all its languages and forms to celebrate the infinite wealth of plants and flora. This is a joy that you simply have to discover if you are heading through Paris. Our article gives you an overview.
For our part, we will soon be closing for the summer. We will be back in August.
As for the Lettre, it will return on September 8, and we are already brimming with plans and ideas. We will take a look at the latest fine jewelry creations revealed this summer, do another health check on the industry and cover HR, inclusion and CSR, etc.
But until then, we hope you have a wonderful summer, and restful and relaxing vacation. Immerse yourself in nature, reading and laughter. And we look forward to seeing you in the fall feeling refreshed, receptive and fighting fit!
Happy reading and enjoy your week.
