The jewelry Maison, which belongs to the Richemont luxury group, has announced the appointment of Louis Ferla as its new CEO.

Jumping from one house to another, Richemont is recruiting internally. At the helm of watch manufacturer Vacheron Constantin since 2017, Louis Ferla will take over as head of jeweler Cartier from September 1st this year. After spending five years with the Alfred Dunhill fashion brand – also owned by Richemont – Louis Ferla joined the Cartier team in 2006. He held several international management roles before taking over the helm of the jeweler’s Chinese business

A graduate of the École supérieure de commerce et développement 3A in Lyon and the National University in Taipei, Louis Ferla succeeds Cyrille Vigneron, who took up his post in 2016. The latter, who will be retiring after a transition period over the summer, will become the Chairman of Cartier Culture & Philanthropy in the autumn.

At the end of its 2024 financial year ending on March 31 this year, Richemont recorded revenue of €20.6 billion, an increase of 3%. During this period, its jewelry houses – Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Bucellati – saw their sales rise by 6%, to more than €14 billion. Between them, these three brands now account for around 69% of the Group’s earnings.
