The jewelry house announces the arrival of Catherine Rénier to head up its business.

One appointment comes head on the heels of another at Richemont. Following the announcement of a new CEO at Cartier, the Swiss luxury group has announced the arrival of Catherine Rénier at the helm of another of its Maisons, Van Cleef & Arpels.

After serving as Chief Executive Officer at Jaeger-LeCoultre since 2018, she will succeed Nicolas Bos in September, who has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Richemont.

Catherine Rénier joined the group 25 years ago as Cartier’s Retail Development Director for North America. In 2003, she joined Van Cleef & Arpels in Paris as Deputy Marketing Manager. She then moved to Hong Kong in 2008 to support the jeweler’s expansion in the Asia-Pacific region as Commercial Director, then Managing Director for Hong Kong and Macao SAR, Managing Director for China and finally President for Asia-Pacific.

The appointments of Louis Ferla at Cartier and Catherine Rénier at Van Cleef & Arpels have some things in common. Richemont is clearly opting for profiles that have both a solid track record in the Jewelry Maisons concerned and proven experience in China, a crucial market for the Luxury Goods industry.

The name of Catherine Rénier’s replacement at Jaeger-LeCoultre has yet to be announced. In the meantime, the management of the watch manufacturer will be entrusted to Philippe Hermann, its Chief Financial Officer.
