The 2020 edition of JCK Las Vegas, America’s largest jewelry trade show, as well as sister show Luxury, will be postponed until later in the year, according to show organizer Reed Exhibitions and the Reed Jewelry Group.
Reed said it was still working out new dates for the show and hopes to have news on that “shortly.” The move was made as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
JCK Las Vegas was scheduled to run June 2–5, with sister show Luxury starting on May 31 and running through June 5. Both shows take place at the Sands Expo & Convention Center and Venetian Hotel.
Reed’s complete statement can be seen below:
As the global community unites in efforts to curtail COVID-19 coronavirus, every day brings new developments. After careful consideration and comprehensive discussions, we have decided that the JCK and Luxury shows will be postponed to later in the year due to the growing concerns over public health and safety and the escalation of COVID-19. As soon as we work out the details for a new date in 2020 for JCK and Luxury, we will immediately share them with all of you. We expect to be able to do so shortly.
Our top priority is the health and safety of our exhibitors, attendees, industry partners, and staff. After consulting with national experts, our customers, and closely monitoring developments and reviewing guidance and advice from renowned national public health officials, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), we have decided it is in the best interest of all our JCK community to postpone the show.
We are grateful to our customers for all their support and constructive input during this challenging period. JCK is privileged to be one of your most anticipated jewelry buying experiences of the year, and we look forward to bringing the industry together again and creating a memorable event later in the year when it is safe to do so.
